Interdependent warrior

Women's leadership grows stronger as the world needs women's energy. In reference to the Leadership Circle Profile ™ ️research, there are competences, behaviors and trends in which women are assessed higher than men, and there are, of course, those in which men are assessed as more effective. What does that tell us? It is not about who is better - I am far from such statements and searches, and I even think that it builds divisions. The different distribution of women's and men's strengths and competencies in leadership is a benefit that must be harnessed.
It is essential that women get into leadership positions more than ever before. It will be a long time before we have a balance between men and women in leadership, although I happen to work with boards where this percentage is high or even balanced. However, as I hear, some women with strong leadership potential do not want to apply for positions among the top management. Sometimes I just hear that they are afraid of the male world and the male work culture. They are afraid that they cannot be tough in negotiations, they do not want anything to do with high risk, or even that they will end up in meetings with increased amounts of alcohol.
Despite the many advantages and strengths in leadership, among which are:
- Staying consistent internally
- Being bold and authentic
- Effective relationship building
- Social sensitivity
- A comprehensive view of productivity
- Achieving goals
in the Leadership Circle © research conducted in Europe - emerges the image of an Overloaded heroine, a woman who is not only perfect and must do everything on time, but strives for the highest quality of her work at all costs. So we can't let go ... We are ready to work overtime and we may tend to increase our self-esteem provided we receive praise or recognition, which is an additional cost.
What's next? How to work on the leadership of women so that, instead of the Overloade heroine, an Interdependent warrior lives within us. Why interdependent and not independent. In the present reality, we need integral leaders who are aware of interdependence and mutual influence with the surrounding reality. We are part of the ecosystem globally, locally and in organizations, and not to spot is being an ignorance.
Therefore, I would point out the key aspects of the development of female leaders:
- know your worth
- honor your values
- build self-esteem based on character, knowledge and competences
- understand your limitations and accept them
- not to be more masculine than men, keep your femininity in behavior, outfit, communication
- use your strengths
Enough for start. Let me invite you to the worskhop Women in leadership.
