Wholeness

What is it like not to pretend nor hide anything? What does it mean to be yourself? Is it possible? Sometimes I hear at workshops and in coaching: "At home, I'm nice and warm, and at work, I have to be distant, show my guard, strength, a different face". How much does this change of a costume cost us? Where do we change from one character to another? What do we need this for? And finally - is it necessary? We all have hidden particles of ourselves.
The higher our level of consciousness, the more we miss our true selves. We ask ourselves, "What is next", "Do I live the way I want", "Am I fulfilled in my life and work", "What am I missing", "What part of myself I don't express", "What talents I don't use". These are simple questions, and yet very difficult. Some of us grew up or started working in such environments in which it was necessary to behave the certain way to be accepted, liked and recognized. Where the only value is success, profit, control, winning, being perfect. We adapt to contemporary, common patterns. And this meant that we could hide certain particles of ourselves deeply, and even cover with rubble. We learned to show one, meticulously created face, a face, a super professional face at work. Showing your real self can be associated with anxiety.
I think Covid helps us see ourselves as whole, see our particles, visualize our wholeness. For some, the inability to close the door to the house behind them and go to work in a different outfit, often in a different mood, in a different skin, and the inability to separate the two worlds is a nuisance. Basically, when working from home, we work with our entire home. We bring home to work, and work to home. This situation shows very clearly what part of our "private self" is not alligned with our "professional self".
Maybe it's time to put our pieces together? Become whole and complete. Ask yourself questions:
- Do I live up to my values?
- What is my prupose?
- Do I use my talents?
- Am I expressing my whole self?
- What am I not showing?
- What am I pretending?
- How and why do I hide from the world? Or maybe from my consciousness?
WHOLENESS gives strength in leadership. Taking off the masks, armor, lowering the guard gives strength, inspires respect and buildes trust.
Difficult, but you can start slowly. Honestly answering these questions is a serious process, but usually very empowering.
